WMCQ - Verifying invite for players

I am currently helping get a store set up for a WMCQ in September, and we are trying to set up some sort of pre-registration. Unfortunately the hurdle we are running into is verifying if a player is actually qualified for the WMCQ as it is invite only. I will be helping run logistics for this event, so I'm hoping to get a little info ahead of time.

Have any of you run a WMCQ and had experience verifying qualified players? If so, is there a good way to put in their DCI number to check?

Thanks!

Based on the info page for WMCQs (http://magic.wizards.com/en/content/fact-sheet-2015-world-magic-cup-qualifiers) there are 3 ways to be eligible.

1) PT HoF. I think it's likely that you'll know these players if they want to play in your event. :)

2) PT Players Club members. These are listed here: http://magic.wizards.com/en/protour/playersclub/standings Unfortunately, these are not listed by DCI number, but you can search it by name.

3) Most likely case: meeting the PWP threshold for the country as listed in the premiere event invitation policy, app C ( http://wpn.wizards.com/sites/wpn/files/attachements/mtg_peip-15_15apr20_en_0.pdf ). In the US, that's 500 points. To see someone's points, point your browser at the PWP website as follows:

http://www.wizards.com/Magic/PlaneswalkerPoints/PLAYER_DCI_NUMBER
or just go to the main page
http://www.wizards.com/Magic/PlaneswalkerPoints/
and enter the number.

I guess there's also case #4, winning a trial… but since you are probably running those, you can hopefully keep track of those winners. :)

Given the specific date cut-off for PWP-based invitations, I would not recommend trying to verify this yourself except as a last resort. WotC should post online and/or provide to TOs a definitive invitation list, taking into account appeals and any other exceptions that they may wish to impose.

Note that the PEIP link in my previous post may not work as it attached some extra punctuation.
Here's a (hopefully) cleaner way to locate it:

Thanks David. I had gone through the invitation policy documentation as well, and wasn't sure if there was just a better way to verify it. Looking up the points that way is at least one possible, albeit cumbersome method.

Sean, I will try to contact Wizards to see if they are planning to send us a list or post eligible players somewhere. Thanks!

I believe TOs have already been sent an Excel document with a list of eligible players as part of the various documents for their WMCQs. I've seen it and was given permission to share it locally amongst players so they could check they were listed correctly. (Although I removed DCI numbers and just left it at name, country, and PWPs.) if the TO doesn't have it then perhaps the WPN rep can send it on.

I will have them contact their WPN rep. Thanks Mark!

WOTC has put up an invitation list on the WMCQ Fact sheet. Below is the link to the Invitation list.
