Does playing an Eldrazi Titan from under a mosswort bridge trigger the cast effect? After some research all I can gather is that the word “play” is synonymous with “cast” so in theory would, I would just like some official clarification on the matter.

If an effect instructs you to play a card, you play it if it's a land, or cast it if it's not. With something like Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, you're casting the card (since Ulamog is not a land), so you'll get the cast trigger from Ulamog.

701.11b To play a card means to play that card as a land or to cast that card as a spell, whichever is appropriate.
