Sealed PPTQ with 8 players

Hello All,
Just a question, if I am running a sealed pptq with only 8 players can I have it run as a single elimination draft or is it single elimination with sealed pools?

You can do either.

Let the players have 6 packs regardless, and then ask them if they would
rather draft 3 of them or crack them all and play sealed.

Jon I thought this was ruled a while ago that you could not do a draft in this scenario.

I had the same idea, a PPTQ with 8 players would be sealed deck single elimination…

I've only been able to dig up this thread (granted searching in Apps Forums isn't the fastest search in the west):

The thread was never ficially answered. Here is the exact text from the PPTQ FAQ sheet:

Formats for Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifiers vary by location, and can be one of the following formats:
Sealed Deck with a Top 8 Booster Draft playoff or a playoff with Sealed Decks used in the Swiss rounds.

Official Answers, to this question and a tangent that occurred to me:

1) you can run either draft or sealed for the 8-player event.

2) if you do, the TO is not required to distribute the 3 extra packs per person that would have been used for a sealed event. (Obviously, it's good customer service, but it might be too expensive, esp. with only 8 customers for the event…)
