Hey everyone,
I seem to remember once reading that the only tournaments that TOs could award byes for (outside of the ones awarded for having an odd number of players) were the for WPN Premier events, but I can't seem to find documentation to back this up.

Am I simply remembering incorrectly? Or did this change recently?

I think the best answer to this is to tell the TO to talk to their WPN
representative about what they can and can't do and what they have to do
for what they can do.

This is something that is a bit out of the realm of what most judges deal
with and is better served by going to the people that it is their
responsibility to know the answers, the WPN rep.

You can also award byes for non-premium Events, though you must (or rather, can only) report them as casual events then (granting each participant exactly 1 PWP and no extra ones for any wins or draws during the tournament).

At least we could do it this way at tournaments here in germany .
