All Aboard! - BRONZE

Welcome back to the Knowledge Pool! This week we have a Bronze scenario. Everyone should submit their answers to the link below.

Amie is playing against Nyla in a sealed PPTQ. Amie casts Board the Weatherlight, and Nyla lets it resolve. Amie says “look at six,” immediately grabs the top 6 cards of her library, and starts to look at them. Nyla calls for a judge.

What do you do?

Thanks everyone for the excellent responses this week.

Our highlighted answer is from Morten Iverson.

Looks like a Hidden Card Error.

The fix would be for Amie to reveal the 6 cards picked up as part of resolving Board the Weatherlight to Nyla, and Nyla picking 1 of those cards to be shuffled into the unknown portion of Amie's library.

Penalties: GPE - HCE Warning for Amie, no penalty for Nyla.

This specifically is not Looking at Extra Cards, as Amie intended to pick up 6 cards.

Originally posted by IPG 2.2, Looking at Extra Cards:

A player can accidentally look at extra cards easily and this infraction handles situations where a dexterity or rules error has led to a player seeing cards in a library that they shouldn’t have. Cards are considered to be in a library until they touch cards in another hidden set. Once those cards have joined another hidden set, the infraction is handled as a Hidden Card Error or Game Rule Violation

This isn't a dexterity error, and the cards have entered another set, so the infraction is Hidden Card Error, and we handle it as Morten described.
