3 rounds of swiss cut to top 4?

I've never had exactly 8 players… I just want to be sure.

No, 3 rounds of single elimination. Or, to put it differently, 0 rounds and
cut to top8.

FYI 3 rounds swiss no cut is the same as single elimination and lets all players get good value for their entry.

Actually not, since in swiss a match may end as a draw due to the time limit.

If you feel that your players may be disappointed by the fact that the event is directly be single elimination and want to provide good customer service, you can propose to those who get eliminated to still give them handmade pairings so they can still play 3 rounds.
Just make clear that for any purpose they are not part of the official event anymore and are just playing for fun.

There you will see the number of rounds and playoff based on the number of players and if it's sealed/constructed.
