Gods no longer being creatures while a spell resolves

If I fuse Far // Away targeting an opponent's Phyrexian Obliterator and that creature's controller, whose only other creature is Erebos, God of the Dead, are they forced to sac Erebos or are they unable to since he's no longer a creature?

My belief is that Erebos is safe, because we follow the spell's instructions in order. And you can't sacrifice the creature targeted by Far to satisfy Away's half, so by the time you get to sac a guy, Erebos is just an Enchantment.

(ps: I need to be right about one of these interactions for a change. Please? >_>)

It won't be sacrificed.

Devotion on Erebos is a static ability - it is checked at all times. After you've follow the instructions on Far, Erebos is no longer a creature, so it's not a legal choice for Away.
