WER Unable to connect to server (for month's)

I've followed all instructions I could find online, I've done everything the Hasbro support team has told me and still my Laptop, my Desktop, My moms Laptop, my friends Laptop etc, neither of them can connect to the server, I can not use it to find DCI's for players that don't know theirs, I can't upload events, and it's becomming very annoying. Certainly, since our delinquency rate has been going up, while it's been around 0% for years.

Who has any thoughts on this matter ? (We've Used Window's 7, Windows 8, Vista & even a old XP laptop I've used in the past).

Do you have the .net updated and the most recent version of the WER? Firewall switched off (or at least allow WER to pass it)?

Are you able to login to WER with your DCI Number and password? Or is the error only when looking up players or trying to upload events?

If your local WPN Rep knows of the problem you should probably be sending your files to them via email which should solve your delinquency issues.

No, I do not get the chance to log on, at al. (Well I can on other page's but not with WER)

Proceding event's files, is something I can't do without the DCI's of the players.

On running WER, it should prompt you to input your DCI No. and password for WPN.

Did this dialog pop out?

No, instead it says error, failure to connect to server.

I assume you do actually have an internet connection when opening WER?

Are you running any software that might be blocking internet? Some kind of firewall software? On a network behind a firewall?

Are you running any kind of proxy service?

Once you click past the failure to connect error, do you get a chance to enter a DCI number?

Have you tried downloading the latest version and installing that? It could be the version you are using is so out of date it's trying to update from an old address that doesn't exist.

Yes, I do.

Don't have that even explicitly opened the firewall to put the program in the always allowed list. Also tried several different networks.

No Proxy server either.

Also no option to log on later.

Downloaded the latest version, but didn't work either.

Only thing I see, is that it tries to connect to Wizards.com/WPN instead of Wizards.com/en/WPN, but that's how it always used to be before as well. If you type it wrong you also get redirected.

Have all your attempts at connecting been at the 1 location? It definitely sounds like you are having issues connecting to the appropriate Wizards site to check for new updates prior to logging in. It also seems like it's specific to you/your location, otherwise there would be a lot of other Europeans complaining about this problem.

Without knowing your setup, how you connect to the internet, how your internet provider provides the internet and if they have some kind of hidden proxy that is causing the problems, it's going to be very hard to diagnose and harder to fix.

Are you still having this problem?

I wonder if WER doesn't think you want to speak english and is being helpful by passing that on to the wotc web server.

Try changing your language to English in some of these places:

a) Control Panels -> Internet Options -> Language
b) Control Panels -> Region and Language -> Administrative -> Change System Locale
c) Control Panels -> Region and Language -> Keyboards and Language -> Install additional languages

Good luck! (or share your solution if you already found it, thanks!)
