Re-pairing and randomization

The following situation happened at an FNM a few weeks ago. Since it was casual REL, the judge just used common sense to fix the problem. However, I wondered what the response would be at Comp.

Albert and Neumann sit across from each other in round 2 tournament and roll to see who will go first (Albert wins), then start shuffling up. Before they can present decks to each other, the Judge tells them to hold on–several match slips were entered incorrectly, so the tournament needs to be paired again. The judge corrects the result, and announces new pairings.

Other matches are affected, but Albert and Neumann are still playing each other. Albert says, “I'm on the play?” Neumann replies, “hang on. Judge? Since we got re-paired, does that mean we need to roll again?”

Re-pairing and randomization

This seems like it is such an unlikely scenario that I'm fine with just saying “handle it however you think is best”.
(i.e., there's no policy for this)
