I'm new to officially Judging. I have a question about 2HG and Commander.

Life total for 2HG starts at 30
“810.4 Each team has a shared life total, which starts at 30 life.”

For commander the life total starts at 40.
“903.7 Once the starting player has been determined, each player sets their life total to 40 and draws a hand of seven cards.”

What life total do you start at if you are playing 2HG and Commander together?

I've heard about the 1.5 life rule, but not seen any official printed rule about it. I was told that what ever format you add to 2HG you take the starting life total and make it 1.5 of it's origonal. so standard constructed would be 20+10 to be 1.5, would commander therefore be 60? 40+20?

Thanks for your question. No, there is no official way to figure out what your starting life total should be when you try to combine formats like that. It's something that you should discuss with your playgroup ahead of time, but not something covered by the rules.
