Stamping Basic Lands

I recall some TOs using other methods to retrieve lands from players like:

1) Turn in your lands to receive prizes

2) Collect lands from opponents (when they drop or single elim)

3) Deposit 25 cents to use lands, returned when lands returned.

4) Signage and reminders in a pleasant, non-threatening way.

5) Membership that grants several benefits, among them land useage (else you need to bring your own)

6) Using ‘thank you’ when players returned their lands.

At pre-releases especially, I usually include an announcement before the last round of swiss about returning lands when the tournament is over. This past weekend however, I went to make that announcement and the TO actually said not to worry about it. He said they had plenty and he wasn't concerned if some disappeared.

I agree that stamping sounds fine, but extremely time consuming.

Having tried many methods, there is nothing I've found that's as powerful
as simple reminders followed by a “thank you” when players return their
lands. (That “thank you” can be delivered with a few extra decibels so
other people are re-reminded!)
