Hello judges!

With the recent update of the MTR the players responsibility has been updated, and with the upcomming change there are more things players need to bring attention to us:

Bringing to a judge’s attention any offers of bribery, wagering, improper game result determination, and any discrepancies in their tournament match record.

Previously, players had to bring up discrepancies in theyr tournament match record, but there was nothing about bribery, wagering and IDaW. We do know that, according to the IPG, players should always call a judge if they get any offer in this direction in theyr own match, but from what i read here i'm asking myself: are we now expecting players to call our attention to bribery/waging/IDaW matches they are just spectating? Previously, there wasnt any obligation to call a judge if a player heard people talking about such things, or even execute them.

Answer: The previous version of the MTR had this line:

• Bringing to a judge’s attention any rules or policy infraction they notice in their matches.

That already covered bribery, wagering, etc.

The change here (which is simply cleaning up something that's been practice for years) is that we don't demand players involve a judge when they notice an error, as long as they call attention to it. That requires a second bullet point that calls out things that we do specifically require a judge call for.

(I suppose we could specify that it's in their match. However: “Individuals who are not judges at a tournament are acting as spectators in any match they are not playing in.”)
