Judge Apps--Adding past events with multiple judges--shows up as notification of new event?

I added a couple of my past events to “My Events,” but then couldn't add a 2nd judge. Read somewhere that I'd have to delete them and post it as an “All Events,” which I did, but noticed when I was done that, once posted, they produced notifications as if they were “new” events.

Did I do that right, or did I break protocol somehow? Is there some other way to record past events with multiple judges so it shows in all participating judges' histories? I've never noticed receiving notifications from other past events being added, leading me to conclude that either 1) I've messed up somehow or 2) people simple don't post their own smaller events to the history, even if multiple judges were involved.

I tried searching forums, but ALWAYS get a 404 error when I try to search this forum, regardless of computer, device, or browser used :( Am I the only one who gets this error?

Adding events to your history just adds to your history, it's a good way for you to keep track of events you've judged without creating an event for judge applications.

Creating an event in All Events is going to trigger notifications for anyone that has setup notifications for events of that type in a particular region. The main aim for those events is to solicit judge applications, provide an event specific forum.

Creating an event for a past event to ensure that all the judge team gets the event recorded seems like a reasonable thing to do, but be aware that it will generate notifications for people, perhaps a lot of people depending on their notification settings.

Thanks! I've got it all entered in now, so it shouldn't be an issue in the future!

Fingers crossed that we'll someday get a site like Planeswalker Points that auto-tracks our judging history!

For now, though, my judging companion has the recognition I wanted, my LGS has a presence on this site, and it's double-mission accomplished!

I will, however, avoid doing so again in the future until an update to Judge Apps disables notifications and applications for events listed with a date that is in the past (hint hint!!).

Thanks again,

John
